The Girl Friends Fund, Inc. ("GF Fund"), a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization, was established on February 23, 1988, for charitable and educational purposes, by The Girl Friends, Inc. (The GF, Inc.) All members of the Girl Friends, Inc. are members of the GF Fund. Our mission is to provide financial assistance to young, academically gifted and financially challenged African-American men and women in their pursuit of a college education. The GF Fund is supported through generous donations from members and chapters of our parent organization, The GF, Inc., and the general public. Scholarship awards are presented to selected graduating high school seniors each spring. Donations to the GF Fund are tax deductible.
The GF Fund is very proud of its Scholarship Program and our young scholars. Since 1995 the Fund has made awards to students who have graduated from Ivy League, Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU), and other institutions of higher learning nationwide. Most scholarship awards are a minimum of $1,000 annually, for up to four academic years. Students must verify continued academic eligibility annually. Student applications are available on-line.

The GF Fund receives donations to support our endowment and recognizes our donors in various ways. All monetary donations are placed on The GF Fund Legacy Tree, which can be viewed on the Donation page of this website. The Legacy Tree allows donors to make a donation in honor of the person of their choosing, to mark a special occasion, and to be recognized for different levels of giving.
